Do You Really Need Immigration Lawyers in Hallandale Beach, FL?

If you're in need of U.S. immigration benefits, it's always best to work with a qualified immigration attorney. Trying to navigate the hurdles of immigration law on your own is like flying a plane without any experience. It may seem easiest to jump in without any guidance, but doing so can be more detrimental to your goals than hiring a great lawyer. If you're wondering whether or not you need an immigration lawyer, keep these common benefits in mind.

Trying to understand legal paperwork is hard enough, even when you’re born in the U.S. For non-native English speakers, figuring out immigration paperwork is even more difficult. Filling out the forms and gathering the necessary supporting documents can be quite overwhelming and bewildering. Seasoned immigration attorneys are well-versed in the correct procedures for filling out these forms. Failing to fill out these forms accurately can lead to significant delays in the approval of your immigration benefits and may result in additional filing fees.

There are multiple ways to obtain U.S. citizenship, and if you're on your own, you might not be aware of all the options. This is where an immigration lawyer can step in to help. They can present different paths, explain the advantages and disadvantages of each, and make sure you fully grasp the implications of your choice on your citizenship journey.

Immigration lawyers are equipped to assist you in obtaining the necessary authorization to work in the U.S. A skilled attorney is familiar with the precise information you must provide to secure work authorization and to ensure the smooth progress of your application. Without a legal expert, errors in the process can cause significant delays.

If you're looking to become a U.S. citizen, chances are this is your first time trying. Thankfully, when you secure counsel from a reputable firm like Central Florida Immigration Attorneys, you can sleep a little easier knowing they have years of experience helping people just like you. Your immigration lawyer should be familiar with the various scenarios and pathways to the immigration benefit you seek. This will be advantageous for you as they have the expertise to identify the necessary documentation, recommend the most suitable options, and provide you with guidance on what to anticipate throughout the process.

Remember that the government can deem you inadmissible for various reasons, such as unresolved financial issues, criminal activity, or providing false information. If you're considered inadmissible, it doesn't have to be the end of the road. There are methods to challenge this ruling. An immigration attorney can assist you in presenting a compelling case. Although there's no guarantee that the immigration court will reverse the decision, having a seasoned lawyer by your side will undoubtedly improve your chances.

How Can You Find the Best Immigration Lawyers in Hallandale Beach, FL?

Finding the right immigration law firm can feel a little bit like searching for a needle in a haystack. That's true in every state but especially so in Florida, where immigrants make up approximately 21% of the population, according to the American Immigration Counsel. So, how do you find the top immigration attorneys in your state? Here are a few tips we've compiled together to help make your search easier.

Immigration Attorneys Hallandale Beach, FL

While your immigration matters are in progress, it's important to stay informed about the status of your case, any challenges that may arise, and what actions you might need to take. That's why it's crucial to work with immigration lawyers who value proactive communication. You can ask your attorney about their communication skills and how often they communicate with you, but take that answer with a grain of salt. It's also helpful to check reviews and read what former clients have to say about their responsiveness. Don't settle for a lawyer who fails to keep you updated.

This tip piggybacks off our first point because it involves communication. If you have questions about your case or any other facet of your immigration status, your lawyer should be available to answer those questions and provide reassurance when needed. It's not always realistic to expect that a lawyer will be able to answer your call right away, but it is reasonable to anticipate that your attorney will respond to you within a few days. If a lawyer has a track record of not returning calls from previous clients (which you might find out from client reviews, for instance), then be cautious about working with that lawyer and keep looking for another one.

If a lawyer has ever been publicly criticized or had formal complaints made against them by former clients, the state bar association will keep records of these incidents. If you're thinking of hiring a lawyer for an important immigration matter, it's a good idea to see what their reputation is like with the state bar association. That way, you can verify the immigration lawyer's experience and also potentially become aware of any professional issues the lawyer may have had in the past.

Immigration law can be quite complex, and the procedures associated with such matters can be equally intricate. That's why it's so important to work with an immigration lawyer who has experience handling different types of immigration cases or - at the least - a good deal of experience working cases just like yours. You can gauge an attorney's experience with immigration cases by checking their website first. If that information is not readily available, don't hesitate to reach out to the lawyer directly to inquire about their experience in handling cases similar to yours. Don't forget to check reviews online.

When it's all said and done, you've got to have confidence in your immigration lawyer, trust them to be honest about your case, and provide upfront advice about your options when faced with obstacles. You can get a sense of an immigration lawyer's integrity and truthfulness by meeting them for an initial consultation and reading client testimonials to learn about their honesty. If you don't feel entirely at ease with an immigration lawyer after this meeting, it's best to look elsewhere.

Even if you're fluent in English, it's important to have an immigration attorney who can provide services in multiple languages. This is especially crucial if your immigration matters involve family members, colleagues, or others who have limited English proficiency. If language might be an issue for you or someone else involved in your immigration case, make sure that the lawyer you're interested in offers services in your native or preferred language. At Central Florida Immigration Attorneys, we proudly offer legal services in both English and Spanish.

If you're new to this country, trying to understand immigration law is overwhelming. But with the right guidance and preparedness, your family's immigration goals are within reach. At Central Florida Immigration Attorneys, we help clients achieve success and peace of mind through years of combined experience, honesty, communication, professional guidance, and innovative immigration law strategies. Contact our office today to learn more about how we can help when you need it most.

Top 3 Immigration Attorney Red Flags

Wondering if there are any red flags you should be aware of when choosing immigration attorneys in Hallandale Beach, FL? The simple answer to that question is yes. If you've got a bad gut feeling or notice any of the following red flags, be wary.

Lawyer

Lawyers Who Wait at USCIS Offices

Attorneys who try to approach you at an office offering United States Citizenship and Immigration Services often provide lackluster legal services. Great immigration lawyers won't have the time to hang out at a USCIS office all day because they're busy serving clients.

Experts

"Experts" Who Aren't Really Lawyers

Beware of individuals who present themselves as "visa consultants," "notarios," or "petition preparers," as they are not the same as licensed attorneys. Oftentimes, they simply assist with filling out forms but lack a genuine understanding of your legal circumstances. There is a possibility that they may complete the forms incorrectly or even abscond with your money without providing any services at all.

Guidance

Illegal Guidance and Advice

Be very careful of lawyers who give you unethical or even illegal advice. For example, be cautious of lawyers who advise you to lie on an immigration form, deceive a USCIS officer, or attempt to bribe an immigration authority. If you get caught, it could result in a permanent bar from U.S. immigration benefits.

With the pouring for levels 1 to 13 underway at the 25-story West Tower of Oasis Hallandale mixed-use luxury condominium project in Hallandale Beach, Fla., MGM Construction Group expects to top out the 250-unit building by late fall.

It will be the first mixed-use development in Hallandale Beach, which is about 20 miles north of downtown Miami and near Aventura, Fla.

The South Florida-based commercial and residential construction firm broke ground on the third phase of the $370 million project in May. Located at 1000 E Hallandale Beach Blvd., Oasis Hallandale will have 500 condominiums across the East and West towers, both 25 stories tall, with a total of 1.4 million square feet. Phase 1 has already been completed and Phase 2 is nearly finished. Completion is slated for 2026.

MGM is the general contractor for 10-acre project being built by a development team led by Giuseppe Iadisernia. Arquitectonica is the architect for the project that will also include office space, dining options and a grocery market.

Property highlights

The residences in both towers will have one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans and will range in price from $580,000 to $3.5 million. Condo features will include floor to ceiling windows and glass sliding doors, broad balconies with glass railings, walk-in closets, powder rooms in select residences, Italian countertops and tile in the kitchens and bathrooms, double sinks in primary baths and frameless glass-enclosed showers.

Community amenities will include valet parking, a 24-hour lobby attendant, business and conference rooms, a lounge bar with pool tables, banquet hall, golf simulator, children’s playroom, both indoor and outdoor movie theaters, two pools, hot tub spa, children’s splash pad and a poolside cabanas. The property will also feature a playground, barbecue and fire pit areas, yoga lawn, ping pong room, a mini soccer field, pet park, bicycle parking, electric vehicle charging station and storage.

Residents of Oasis Hallandale will be close to Sunny Isles Beach and Hollywood Beach. The property is also near Gulfstream Park, Port Everglades Cruiseport in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Aventura Mall, Hollywood Boardwalk and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

There are multiple condo projects in various stages of development currently underway in the South Florida area, including The Residences at Shell Bay, a 20-story, 108-unit luxury tower, also located in Hallandale Beach. The project is being developed by Witkoff Group and PPG Development and reached more than $120 million in sales earlier this year.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Federal authorities arrested a Belarusian national living in South Florida over the weekend after they said he illegally arranged the shipment of a sensitive piece of scientific equipment to Russia.

U.S. Marshals took Kirill Gordei, 35, of Hallandale Beach, into custody on Sunday, Broward jail records show. He’s facing multiple charges in Boston federal court.

Gordei, who runs a freight forwarding company called Apelsin Logistics Inc., is accused of facilitating the shipment of a mass spectrometer to a Moscow-based “producer and distributor of building blocks, novel reactive intermediates for combinatorial chemistry and discovery research in life sciences.”

According to the nonprofit Broad Institute, a mass spectrometer measures the mass-to-charge ratio of a molecule and can be used to, among other things, “determine (the) structure and chemical properties of molecules.”

According to the complaint, the Orbitrap Exploris GC 240 is “controlled for nuclear nonproliferation reasons” and requires a license from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security to export to Russia.

The Orbitrap Exploris GC 240 is manufactured by a Waltham, Massachusetts-based company and the item at the center of the case was purchased for more than $688,000, the complaint states.

According to the complaint, Gordei received an email on Aug. 4, 2023 from a representative at the Moscow-based company regarding the export of the mass spectrometer.

The representative emailed Gordei that the equipment was purchased from a San Diego company and paid for by a business in Uzbekistan, authorities said.

According to the complaint, the emailer told Gordei that the name of the San Diego company “cannot be reflected in the documents.”

Gordei is accused of working with the Russian company over the following weeks to forge documents in order to get the mass spectrometer to Moscow by way of Turkey.

The item arrived in Istanbul on Aug. 28, authorities said.

Gordei faces charges of conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to violate the Export Control Reform Act and smuggling goods from the United States.

He could face two decades in prison and a $1 million fine if convicted.

As of Monday, Gordei remained in the Broward Main Jail pending extradition to Boston, where he will face a federal judge.

— Erick Van Wagenen, President & CEO, WeDriveU

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA, June 26, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ -- WeDriveU, a leader in shared mobility solutions for communities, campuses and workplaces, has launched operations for the Cloud Bus transit services for the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida. The Cloud Bus service is one piece of the City’s planned electric transportation system that will include e-bikes, electric vehicles, and more, providing safe and reliable connections to jobs, services, education and attractions.

Leading the Way to Carbon Neutrality

The city proudly announces the launch of one of the largest 100% electric fleets owned by any municipality in Florida, demonstrating its commitment to progress and a greener tomorrow. This initiative, called The Cloud, is supported by a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), contributions from the City of Hallandale Beach and the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency for the purchase of electric buses and charging infrastructure, and Transportation Surtax Funds from Broward County Transit for the operation and maintenance of the fleet.

The three-year contract to operate and maintain the fixed route bus network was awarded to National Express Transit, part of the WeDriveU family. The contract’s two one-year options would extend the partnership to 2029.

The fleet of nine 100% battery-electric BYD buses replaced five gas-fueled buses. It offers a free, convenient, quiet ride for passengers across an extended route system, with Wi-Fi, spacious seating, dedicated customer service, and other amenities.

WeDriveU helped open the city’s new EV charging facility, where GM Tom Furlong leads managers, bus maintenance technicians, dispatchers and cleaning associates who support the transportation solution. Riders are enthusiastic, praising the professionalism of WeDriveU bus drivers such as Monique Ambush and remarking how they can tell “she loves her job and really wants to help her passengers.” The service is monitored by City Transportation and Mobility Division Manager, Igor Colmenares.

“Our program with the City of Hallandale Beach exemplifies WeDriveU’s commitment to partnerships that help customers achieve their long-term public transportation goals,” said Erick Van Wagenen, President & CEO, WeDriveU. “We’re pleased to expand in the Southeast and proud of our team’s dedication to enhancing the transit experience for Florida residents and visitors.”

“We are proud of the City of Hallandale Beach's commitment to sustainability and innovation, exemplified by the launch of the 'Cloud' electric bus fleet. This milestone achievement not only marks our dedication to reducing carbon emissions but also highlights the important role of women in the transportation industry,” said Vanessa Leroy, Director of the Department of Sustainable Development, City of Hallandale Beach. “I am honored to have played a role in bringing this project to fruition, and I commend our team for their hard work and dedication. The 'Cloud' fleet represents a significant step towards a greener future for our community, and we look forward to continuing to lead the way in sustainable transportation solutions.”

Women Who Move Broward County

The launch included a visit from women leaders who were instrumental in launching The Cloud, including Noemy Sandoval, Asst. City Manager; Faith Phinn, Deputy Executive Dir. of the City’s Community Redevelopment Agency; Vanessa Leroy, Dir. of the Department of Sustainable Development (DSD) from the City of Hallandale Beach; Jayne Pietrowski, Sr. Transit Coordinator, FDOT; Carol L. Henderson, Deputy Executive Dir. of Intergovernmental & Outreach, Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization; and from WeDriveU, Stephanie Maher, RVP Operations (East) and Marissa Basile, Senior Dir., Customer Success. They represent the dynamic and rewarding career paths for women in the transit industry.

Drenched South Florida faces fresh flood threats

Heavy to excessive rainfall may bring "considerable to locally catastrophic urban flooding" across South Florida through Friday, the National Weather Service warns.

The big picture: The intense downpours that flooded streets in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and prompted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to declare an emergency in affected counties and severely disrupted travel on Wednesday eased on Thursday evening, but South Florida remains under a flood watch through 8pm Friday.

Threat level: Technical forecast discussions from the NWS forecast office in Miami and the Weather Prediction Center both pointed to the potential for most areas affected by flooding Wednesday to see 4- to 8-inch amounts of rain on Thursday into Thursday night, with isolated 10-plus inches possible.

State of play: Flood watches were in effect for all of South Florida through Friday evening.

Context: The heavy rain and flooding is the result of a firehose of tropical moisture flowing from southwest to northeast across the unusually warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Zoom out: South Florida was hit by a severe flash flood last year, which closed down Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport for days.

Broward fire chief shares flooding safety tips for South Florida residents, visitors

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Several roads were still underwater Thursday morning after a day of heavy rain caused major flooding in parts of Broward County.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael Kane spoke with Local 10 News in Hallandale Beach Thursday morning to discuss the type of calls his department has received in the last 48 hours.

“Most of the calls that we’ve been responding to since about 2 p.m. yesterday, up until midnight, have been weather-related emergencies,” Kane said. “Most of those emergencies involve people stranded in their vehicles, unable to get out of the rising waters.”

“The weather has left many people stranded after being unable to escape their vehicles,” Kane added. “They have no choice but to call 911 and make a request for fire rescue to come, remove them from their vehicle and take them to safety.”

“Is that a good type of 911 call?” asked Local 10 News reporter Hannah Yechivi.

“If you’re in that situation, you’re in dire straits, you need to call 911 as soon as possible because those waters are going to continue to rise and you may become trapped,” said Kane.

Kane also provided safety tips for people who are stuck in flooded situations.

“One of the things you want to be mindful of is if you don’t have power, you want to be especially careful because (of) when that power comes on,” he said. “If there’s any power lines that may be down in some standing water, that standing water becomes electrified. You can become electrocuted and your day is going to go from bad to worse.”

Kane also urged that drivers should be extremely careful when they see bodies of water.

“As flood waters rise, that road may become washed out, and that 3 feet of water that you’re in may become 8 to 12 feet of water,” said Kane. “You may drive into a canal. You may drive into a lake, especially if you’re unfamiliar with that area. The best thing to do is not drive at all, stay home, go to a place, seek refuge and stay there until the water subsides and recedes.”

Sky 10 flew over the scene of Hallandale Beach where main roadways remained covered with water and cars struggled to move around the area.

SHARE YOUR PHOTOS: Flooding widespread as storms sweep across South Florida

“Hallandale Beach took the brunt of the storm,” said Kane. “We received about 19 inches of water, which is quite the amount of water and we performed five rescues and rescued seven people using out boats.”

“In the words of our city manager, we’re throwing everything at the storm,” Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy Cooper told Local 10 News Wednesday. “We’re seeing a storm to the likes of last year in April, those inches of rain just inundating every inch of our city.”

Several vehicles in Hallandale Beach were almost completely covered by water and abandoned.

Local 10 News also spoke with a man named William, a Hallandale Beach mobile homeowner who says his home is situated below the main road so once it rains, the water slides down into the mobile homes in the area.

Earlier Wednesday, flooding caused Hallandale Beach City Hall and the Cultural Center to close early.

“What we are telling people is if you are in danger, call 911,” said Cooper.
